Key Points : Simple, chic and elegant
Challenges : Limitation of the inherent architectural features (historical heritage apartment)
Time frame : 3 months (Start to finish)
Moodboard
While maintaining the core structure of an historical apartment, the challenge was to deliver a quiet luxury feel to the space, adding only a few hints of colors to bring finesse and subtlety to the interiors. We favored simple patterns and neutral tones for the main pieces, bringing the more creative touches only as accents.
The dining table, made of solid oak wood, brings authenticity and reaffirms the historical identity of the apartment reinterpreting elegantly a similar feature found throughout the house (Solid oak wood : dining cupboard/coffee table) The same process was applied with the fabrics (Woven boucle) found in different color throughout the furniture : Sofa, bed bench, bedroom armchair, bringing cohesion and reaffirming confident features.

Layout strategy
The main layout idea was to open the living area, without altering the structure of the room.
To emphasize the feeling of grandeur, reminiscent of Versailles and Les Chateaux de la Loire, the curation of the furniture was restrained to a handful of unique pieces.
Each one has its dedicated place, carefully chosen to benefit the most of the inherent qualities of the environment. Both social unit (dining and living space) are placed near the windows to take advantage of the natural light , directly facing the Parisian sky, and therefore leaving the transition spaces clear and empty to favor an easy circulation and the maximum luminosity exposure to those dimmer areas.

The vast majority of the furniture are custom made, carefully handcrafted by craftsmen all across Europe. The sofa itself requires a whole month of work, the dining cabinet needs 12 layers of varnishing, and 3 different workshops have to work on the living room rug.
Exceptional work requires time and dedication, each part being analyzed, scrutinized to its finest detail, to complete the final puzzle of a truly exquisite piece.
