Moodboard
Being a development project we had to work integrally from plans, which made the work very conceptual and forced us to think twice about every decision we made.
The developer wanted an interior truly new and contemporary, but mentioned 1970's interiors as a reference point, around which we could work, bringing revamped ideas of classical concepts.
Natural stone, for its authenticity and complexity, and dark wood tones for its elegance and sophistication were the consensus for the palette of the space. They would be the prominent features and lay the visual base of the apartment. A variation of neutral pale sand would complement the sturdier pieces to bring stability and calm. An addition of curated pieces and a bespoke bar cabinet with chiseled features and walnut finish break the cliché pattern and add complexity to the space.

Execution Strategy
As a constraint we had to make the space modulable, to easily hold reception and throw parties.
The objective was to create a layout easily convertible, without compromising it's style and functionality.
We thought to build the bar cabinet along the wall in the middle of the room, right between the two sliding windows overlooking the garden. Not only it is the anchor point of the room, kindly inviting visitors to smoothly flow around the space while offering a gentle visual separation between the living and the dining space, but its location almost in the garden, allows countless possibilities for summer parties and events, without the need to walk across the house, while keeping an all year round option to seamlessly host gatherings.

Lighting is prominent and a key feature of the architecture there. Throughout the house, the gorgeous opening of the windows let the sun floods the house of natural light most of the day. But besides night time, we had to really focus on bringing to the space consistency throughout the day, even when the sun disappears or lose in intensity. Specially since the orientation and structure of the house, receiving sunlight primarily from a single façade.
Lighting was then conceived as an integral component of the architectural features and cabinetry, to reinforce the sense of structure and consistency.
In the Master bedroom (plan above), concealed linear LED profiles accentuate the fluted feature wall and bespoke cabinetry, creating soft indirect illumination that emphasizes texture without producing glare.
General illumination is provided by recessed LED downlights, while decorative bedside luminaires introduce a dedicated task lighting layer. Luminaires are connected to independent dimmable circuits, allowing precise control of light intensity and atmosphere throughout the day.

The mixture of industrial design features including the use of tampered glass (dining table and coffee table), mixed metals (dining table legs, chairs structure, arch lamp, tv paneling), stylishly embrace the refined curves and soft textures of the modular sofas.
The dining area, is built around a circle to evoke a sunflower shifting its petal following the sun's orientation, and while its modern features bring contrast to the direct nature outdoors it also brings cohesion and balance, simplicity and elegance.
The living keeps a dark, cinematic palette, favoring more classical colors but using a louder and more contemporary language for the furniture and shapes of the room atmosphere.

Home automation : Smart Systems & Design Integration
Automation, a layer of intelligent control. Automation is most effective when it connects the different systems within a home and allows them to respond to how the property is actually being used. Rather than relying on fixed schedules or manual controls, heating, cooling, lighting, shading and ventilation can react to occupancy, daylight, temperature and other conditions in real time.
