The language of furniture
An empty room is abstract. Just like silence, it is perceptible, but difficult to understand.
Furniture are words, a vocabulary to speak one's mind.
They bring rhythm, energy, and distinction, and like phrases not only are they used to fill in the air, but to serve a purpose.
Did you say materials ?
What does marble mean ? Exclusivity, uniqueness.
And solid walnut cabinet ? Quality, craftsmanship.
Every piece means something.
Some are replaced frequently, and others remain in use for years, even as everything around them changes. And you know what ? The difference is rarely about fashion. It is about construction, materials, and how well something continues to function after the initial novelty fades.
Therein lies the difference between pretending and being something, consistency.
Some furniture stick to the basic idea of their mere function and express directly a simple message :"I am a chair".
They don´t call for attention.
Some, on the other hand are more eloquent. They will suggest, trigger curiosity, bring ideas and concepts, and invite for reflection or simply induce admiration.
Furniture suggest a way of living, of thinking, that feels immediately translatable.
